A warm welcome from Becki at Cothi Valley Pilates. Becki's Pilates journey commenced in 2005 when her Osteopath recommended it as a way of regaining strength and mobility after back surgery. Overwhelmed by the speed of her recovery and the reduction in pain once Pilates was introduced into her rehabilitation programme she made Pilates a regular part of her routine.
In early 2009 after funding for the role she worked as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate came to an end, Becki took the brave step to complete her Pilates teacher training and become self employed. She had found her passion, and has never looked back.
In peri menopause she became aware of changes to her pelvic health. After being diagnosed with a grade 2 pelvic organ prolapse and high tone pelvic floor she commenced her pelvic health journey. Using a variety of techniques she now teaches, she has improved her own pelvic health, and makes pelvic health an integral part of all of her Pilates classes.
Your physical and mental wellbeing is our top priority. Becki is committed to supporting you to improve your complete wellbeing through movement, and to create time each day to do the things that you enjoy and put a smile on your face.
Cothi Valley Pilates is based on Becki's 22 acre smallholding which is also home to a herd of 25 Suri and Huacaya Alpacas, and located near to the Brechfa Forest.
Friendly and inquisitive by nature, you can be sure of a warm welcome from the alpacas when you arrive. These unique, attentive, and peaceful animals are able to create a sense of calm and relaxation, which can improve wellbeing by reducing feelings of stress and anxiety. Research shows that spending time with alpacas can also lower the heart rate and reduce blood pressure, making it easy to see why they are frequently used as therapy animals within professional settings such as care homes. They provide the perfect backdrop for your classes.
